It is already known that the United States authorities have started to amplify the scrutiny on the Visa application applications from international population. But finally, there is some good news for Indian community individuals who had been waiting for the green card opportunity from the United States.
The March 2026 Visa Bulletin released by the United States Department of State has brought major relief for green card applicants from India. The biggest development is in the EB 2 category, where priority dates have moved forward significantly after months of slow progress.
Under the Dates for Filing chart, the EB 2 cutoff for India advanced by almost eleven months. This means many more Indian professionals can now submit their adjustment of status applications.
Once they file, they may become eligible for work permits and travel documents while waiting for final approval. The Final Action Date for EB 2 India also moved ahead by two months, allowing some long pending cases to move closer to approval.
The EB 1 category for India also saw slight forward movement, offering some relief to highly skilled professionals and executives. However, the EB 3 category remained unchanged, continuing the long wait for skilled workers in that group.
Overall, this update is seen as positive news for Indian applicants in the employment based green card system in the United States, where backlogs have stretched for years. While the progress is modest, it gives fresh hope to thousands waiting in line.
