OPT Fraud in USA: How Many Indian Students In Trouble?

The kind of fraudulent activities that have been happening with regard to student and work permit visa in the United States has been going up consistently for the last few years. Now there is a set of shocking updates to this effect.

It is being established in principal that the United States immigration control Authority have identified a massive fraud involving the OPT operation in the country.

ICE has uncovered a staggering 10,000 cases of foreign student visa scams linked to a federal government program called Optical Practical Training (OPT). These scams involved both fictitious businesses and students, with funds being sent offshore, primarily to India.

This is essentially regarding the companies that have been operating within the United States, but with foreign students as a part of the OPT program, which is offered by the United States.

several of these companies have been reporting wrongful number of students as they had been disclosing only three or four students on paper while they have been working with more than 500 of them.

It is against the law and regulation in United States to operate beyond the disclosed manpower, and these companies that had been shifting money outside the United States have been grossly misreporting the same.

Apparently, several of these Office locations that were disclosed by these companies are nothing but vacant buildings which are being used as proxy enclosures. When the ICE authorities went to inspect these Office locations, they were absolutely empty, and this shocked the authorities.

Considering the strong standard that the Donald Trump administration in the United States has taken against such activities, these fraud operations are likely to have very strong consequences.
