The much-awaited meeting between BCCI and IPL owners was held in Mumbai the other day. It is said that crucial issues came for discussion during the meeting with the governing body and owners placing their views and arguments. Media reports say that a key proposal was made on the foreign players.

Cricbuzz reported that the IPL teams suggested banning foreign players who skip the leagues without reason. Foreign players are purchased by the teams by spending big amounts. After the auction, they pull themselves out of the leagues without valid reasons. This is a big concern for the teams as it affects the team balance.

Having faced the issues with this earlier the teams reportedly sought a ban on foreign players who miss the league. It is being reported that foreign players cannot withdraw their names after the auction and if they do then they will not be paid the salaries.

Players like Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and others shocked the teams by pulling out of the league after the auction. It looks like the IPM teams want to stop this and made a big proposal to the BCCI on this.

As the IPL teams urged the BCCI to think about banning foreign players, the focus is on the BCCI to see what it will decide. If the Governing body says yes to the proposal then it would leave a huge impact.

If this comes into effect then the foreign players have to stick to the IPL when it is held and they might not keep themselves unavailable. Let us wait and see what the BCCI decides on this.
