A passport is not mere Identity proof, but it is also an entry card for people to visit other nations. However, passengers also need Visas issued by the concerned nations to land there. But the passports issued by a few nations are so powerful that the passport holders can enter a few nations without having a visa.
The number of countries the holders can visit is the parameter to decide the most powerful passports in the world. Every year, the passports are ranked based on the same. Now the ranks for the passports were issued and a surprise name got the top position.
It is said that the Singapore passport is ranked as the most powerful passport in the world as passport holders can visit as many as 193 countries without having to hold a visa. Germany, Italy, and Spain are at the second post.
The London-based firm Henley & Partners issued the ranks for the most powerful passports in the world. Japan, which has been enjoying the top place on the list, has slipped to the third place allowing its holders to visit 189 nations without any visa.
Japan shares third place with a few other nations like South Korea,Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, and Sweden. Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom are in fourth place in terms of the most powerful passports in the world.
On the other hand, the passports issued by Belgium, Czech Republic, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, and Switzerland are in fifth place and the passport holders can travel 187 nations in the world. The Superpower nation America is at the eighth spot and with the passports holders can visit 183 nations. The US slipped two positions on the list of powerful passports in the world.
The list also told a piece of good news to Indians as the Indian Passport stands at the 80th place on the list. The happy news is that India's position on the list improved by as many as five places. Indian passport holders can visit 57 countries. Our neighbouring nations Pakistan and Dragon country China are ranked 100 and 63 on the list.
