As per the trade analysts, the Indian Box office is in the third position in 2023 in terms of worldwide collections. The Indian box office recorded as much as $1.50 billion in 2023 which translates to around 12,400 crores in Indian currency. This is a big jump of around 20 percent compared to the previous year.

The massive collections the Indian Box Office recorded is a positive sign for Bollywood as the industry enjoys a big share in the collections. Bollywood is said to be holding around 45 percent of the total collections.

Bollywood recorded big hits in the form of Shah Rukh Khan starrers-Pathaan, Jawan, and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. SRK's Dunki also had a decent run at the box office but failed to match Pathaan or Jawan.

In the era of Pan-India films where Southern films were seeing big collections, Bollywood gave superhits and is going slowly towards the pre-Covid times. Earlier Bollywood used to enjoy a major share of collections in India. But the Pan-India trend changed everything and Southern films started showing their power across the nation.

2023 has been fruitful for Bollywood with its share in the Indian films increasing. It would be even more boost for Bollywood if the same trend is continued. Much-awaited films like Fighter, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Yodha. However, Bollywood will face tough competition with films like Pushpa-2. Kalki and others.
