Two Small Films Surprise At Filmfare Best Telugu Nominations

One of the prestigious film awards, apart from the Government of India's National Awards, is none other than the Filmfare Awards. Guess what, right now the 70th Filmfare Awards are being celebrated, and the South Indian industries have been honoured for a long time by these awards. Other day, the nominations for the next awards ceremony got announced, and the list is going to throw a lot of surprises.

If we look at the Best Telugu Movie 2025 list, surely it has a big surprise. On one side, it has Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa 2, HanuMan and Lucky Bhaskar competing, and on the other side, there's 35 Chinna Katha and Committee Kurrollu in the nominations for the 70th Filmfare Awards. Well, the nomination itself is a big win for these small films because standing by the likes of Kalki and Pushpa in itself is a big honour. Also, the list is composed of films made with 100s of crores to those made with a few crores. Well, one has to honour the content, not the making cost, and this proved it.

Whether any of the two movies, 35 Chinna Katha or Committee Kurrollu, wins any award or not, truly, this nomination will boost those producers to come up with many such small-budgeted gems in the coming days. Only after taking the OTT route, some filmmakers and producers lost their touch, but then it looks like Tollywood is slowly falling in the right groove again, to make content-driven movies that also work commercially at the box office.
