Aamir Khan Team Slams Coolie Distribution Rumours in Bollywood

The much-anticipated film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and headlined by superstar Rajinikanth, is gearing up for a grand release on August 14. Fans across the globe are eagerly waiting to see the star in action as “Coolie Number 1421.” Adding to the buzz, Bollywood’s Aamir Khan will be making a special guest appearance. However, in recent days, speculation has been rife that Aamir is also handling the Hindi release of the film. The team has now stepped in to set the record straight.

Reports in Bollywood circles claimed that War 2 had already locked major multiplex chains in the North, prompting Aamir to personally engage in talks with PVR and Inox for Coolie’s release. It was even suggested that the actor was playing a key role in the movie’s Hindi distribution strategy. Aamir’s team has now dismissed these claims, clarifying that there is no truth to the rumours. “Aamir and his team are not involved in any aspect of Coolie’s distribution. He has not contacted any theatre chains. His role in the film is purely a cameo, which he accepted out of his long-standing camaraderie with Rajinikanth,” the statement read.

The statement also touched upon Aamir’s recent project, Sitare Zameen Par, which was recently released on YouTube. The team expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming response, thanking viewers for their love and support.

As for Coolie, the film is a massive pan-India production with an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran. Pooja Hegde will be seen in a high-energy item number, while Anirudh has composed the music. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, and will also be available in IMAX format, promising a larger-than-life viewing experience.
