By: Tupaki Desk | 25 July 2025 1:04 PM ISTAbbas, once a familiar face in Tamil and Telugu films, is back after a long break. Many still remember him from the 1996 classic Premadesam, where he charmed the audience with his soft looks and easy performance. After a good run as a lead and character actor through the late ‘90s and 2000s, Abbas slowly stepped away from acting. His last known film was the Malayalam movie Pachakalam in 2015.
Now, after nearly 11 years, Abbas is returning to Tamil cinema. He will be seen in a key role in a film featuring GV Prakash Kumar in the lead. The movie is directed by newcomer Mariaraja Ilancheliyan and produced by Jayawardhananan. Sri Gowri Priya plays the female lead. It’s being made as a family drama, and for Abbas, this marks his official re-entry into films.
Abbas hasn’t done a Telugu film either since Ala Vadhu Okka Roju, which came out in 2014. With this project, he’s stepping back in front of the camera after nearly a decade away. It’s not just a comeback, it’s a quiet return of an actor who once had a strong fan base.
