Veteran actor Raza Murad has filed an official complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai after false rumours about his death spread on social media. The actor, known for his roles in Hindi, Bhojpuri, and regional films, said the fake post left him exhausted as he had to repeatedly deny the misinformation.

The post, which falsely declared Murad’s death, even included a fabricated date of death along with his birth date and a tribute message. Murad expressed his distress over the situation by stating that some people seem to be bothered by his existence and shared condolences, saying that he had been forgotten despite his years of work in the film industry.

Murad shared his frustration, mentioning how he was repeatedly clarifying the rumour, to the point where he felt physically drained. “My throat, tongue, and lips have dried up from saying that I am alive. This false news has spread everywhere. I am receiving calls and messages from all over the world,” he explained. He also stated that many people had sent him screenshots of the post.

In response to the incident, Murad called the act “shameful” and condemned the person responsible. He suggested that the person behind the rumour must have a malicious mentality, criticizing the individual for resorting to such acts. Murad also pointed out that such false claims are not only harmful to him but to many celebrities, who are often falsely declared dead while alive. He called for legal action against the perpetrators.

The police have accepted Murad’s complaint and are filing an FIR. They assured him that they would thoroughly investigate the matter and take legal action against the individual responsible.

Raza Murad is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, with a career spanning over 250 films since the 1970s. His deep voice and ability to portray both villains and sympathetic characters have made him a respected actor in Hindi cinema.
