Meena Opens Up About Turning Down Big Bollywood Hero Offer!

Life’s funny sometimes, the paths we skip often become the ones people talk about years later. Actress Meena, who ruled South Indian cinema for decades, recently spoke about one such missed turn in her journey. She said she once got a big Bollywood offer but couldn’t take it. Known for her charm and emotional performances across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films, Meena opened up about that phase when she was literally living on film sets, juggling four movies a day.

She laughed as she recalled those days, saying, I didn’t even have time to eat or sleep properly. Offers from Bollywood came in, but I just couldn’t manage the schedule. Also, I was scared that Hindi films would take forever to finish. It’s a small confession, but one that makes fans wonder what her Bollywood era might’ve looked like if things had gone differently.

Meena also shared a warm, slightly funny memory about veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty. Mithun garu had a hotel in Ooty, and most of us used to stay there during shoots. He’d drop by and ask, When are we doing a movie together? I didn’t have any dates, so every time he asked, I’d just smile awkwardly. After a point, I even stopped staying in that hotel, she said, laughing. Still, I feel a little bad we never worked together.

Her story feels grounded. After losing her husband Vidyasagar in 2022, Meena focused on raising her daughter and slowly found her way back to work. She says she’s content now, has no plans for remarriage, and is enjoying her space.
