Some journeys sparkle in one land but fade in another. Simran’s career reflects that contrast, adored in the South, but still waiting for Bollywood to notice her fully. With nearly 30 years in films, she admits the Hindi industry never gave her the recognition she expected.

Her first step into Bollywood came in 1995 with Sanam Harjai. Later she worked alongside Govinda, Salman Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, and Ajay Devgn. Yet, she says her presence remained invisible. “I began my career here, but people hardly know me. Even today, they ask for test videos before a role. Some clicked, many didn’t. I can’t blame them, but it leaves a mark,” she shared.

Simran also drew attention to pay gaps between industries. According to her, South films often pay a fraction of what Hindi projects offer. Still, she continued there because the South valued her work and gave her consistent space. Even after Gulmohar, where she connected well, the big offers in Bollywood never followed.

Currently, she is shooting The Last One. She admits that most of her stardom is tied to Telugu and Tamil films. For Bollywood, she remains on the sidelines, despite her long experience. It’s not bitterness in her words, but a quiet impatience, a reminder that even veterans can be waiting for the recognition they deserve.
