Renu Desai Exposes The Patriarchy & Misogyny In Society!

Actress and filmmaker Renu Desai who did not act in movies for nearly two decades has made a comeback with 'Tiger Nageswara Rao'. People eagerly waited for her return and they may she her in more films in the near future. But there are a few people who are misusing social media and making unnecessary comments on their YouTube channels.

Recently, a senior journalist made some remarks on Renu Desai by saying that she has Akira Nandan for the future and can chant Pawan's name all day without doing anything. Hurt by these remarks, Renu Desai shared the video and shared her opinion on this. She said, "instead of only attacking fictional films for misogyny and sexism, we should all collectively focus on the "real" world which still has men like this person who believes that women are nothing and have no existence beyond their fathers and husbands and sons."

She further added, "This post is not about me because I have become comfortably numb about any nonsense that is spoken and written about me. This post is to show how much patriarchy and misogyny still exists in our so called modern society. I hope with the discussions and the reforms and change in mindset, our coming generations of women will have their own unique identities and a better life (This post has nothing to do with my ex husband. This is just to generate a discussion for a better future for our daughters and granddaughters)."

She even said that she did 30 advertisements for big brands like Ponds, Sunsilk, Brooke Bond, Limca and others along with featuring in 3 video songs including Shankar Mahadevan's 'Breathless'. She also did 3 big films in Telugu and Tamil while being the first production designer in Telugu film industry. A merit student, a published poet, a successful tv show judge, a writer, director, producer and a successful real estate women as well and so on, Renu Desai is a woman of many talents.
