2024 is turning out to be a disaster year for Bollywood. The highest collecting film in the North turned out to be 'Kalki 2898 AD' this year. Till date, the movie's Hindi version earned nearly 290 crores. None of the stars in Bollywood managed to touch the 250 crore mark till now. Big names like Karthik Aryan, Tiger Shroff, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar arrived this year but they faced commercial disasters.

Akshay's 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' turned out to be a huge loss venture considering its budget, his last film 'Sarfira' got a mere 2.4 crore on its opening day which is the lowest for an Akshay Kumar film in recent times. It's action hero Ajay Devgn's turn now. He also arrived with two films this year. His horror drama 'Shaitaan' is a good hit with 15.2 crores on Day 1 and around 200 crores collection in its lifetime.

While 'Maidaan' got critical acclaim, it did not get the required money. It made only 7.25 crores on its first day and did not get much at the end of its end. His recent outing 'Auron Main Kaha Dum Tha' has massively underperformed. It got even lower collections than 'Sarfira'. It made only 2 crores on the first day and occupancy was just 9.16%. The film had Tabu playing the female lead while Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar played Ajay and Tabu's younger versions.

Made by 'Special 26', 'A Wednesday' and 'Baby' fame Neeraj Pandey, the movie got a mixed response. There are no signs of the collections improving and it is also competing with Janhvi's 'Uljah'. Many say that Devgn's film may soon arrive on Prime Video. Let us see if it picks up pace during the weekend or not.
