Other day, a Telugu hero stated that, unlike a few other films, they haven’t used AI to generate visuals in their movies. Earlier, a senior legendary director like SS Rajamouli also confirmed that they haven’t used AI to generate the visuals of the Varanasi title reveal video. These types of comments bring us to the question: Does using AI mean a lack of talent, or what?

At a time when AI is quickly outperforming the traditional way of creating many things like coding, optimising, debugging and now even visual effects, many are wondering what’s wrong with using this modern technology. AI is also saving huge time when it comes to creating visual effects, especially creating worlds and effects. That also saves the money of producers, too, as we have seen how VFX issues delayed the release of films like Baahubali earlier, Vishwambhara now, and how that would burn the pockets of producers.

Like every time, how people look at a new technology as a villain, it looks like many Telugu industry folks are right now seeing AI also in a negative way only. But industry experts and tech giants have already shared their opinion that AI is not just a future; it’s there in the present also, and it will be evolving more quickly and faster than anyone expects. So, the time is to adapt to it, rather than intimidating it.
