By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Oct 2025 1:33 PM ISTThe kind of content that is being created on YouTube has been very detrimental to certain film stars these days. Bollywood couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have taken strong legal action against YouTube/Google in the Delhi High Court.
They have filed a lawsuit asking for ₹4 crore compensation after finding that several AI deepfake videos of Aishwarya were uploaded on YouTube. These clips, some of which were offensive and misleading, wrongly used her face and likeness in ways that could damage her reputation.
The couple’s legal team submitted nearly 1,500 pages of documents, including screenshots and links to hundreds of such videos. They have also demanded a permanent ban on uploading such manipulated content and asked YouTube to put stricter systems in place so that their names and images cannot be misused for AI training.
The court has already taken initial action, ordering the removal of over 500 links related to these deepfakes. This case raises big questions about AI misuse, online safety, and digital rights in India.
The Bachchans argue that their personality rights the right to protect their name, image, and identity—are being violated. This lawsuit is seen as an important step in creating awareness and building stronger laws against the spread of fake and harmful AI content.
