She recently opened up about how winning Miss World literally flipped her life. And the answer is too fascinating for many, not only for the models or for normal people. She clicked walking the aisle at the Red Sea Film Festival, in a gorgeous black-and-white silk gown worth which shocked the price Rs 5.4 lakh. People are still talking about that dress!
She shared on stage, “I went to Miss World almost by chance. I didn’t see it as a beauty contest, and honestly, I never expected to win. I just wanted to represent India. Back then, not many people knew about our country, so I made sure to speak about it on stage.
After that crown, things just went fast. Her first film, Iruvar with Mani Ratnam, came immediately. Then, Bollywood offers started pouring in. And Devdas, a Total game-changer. She said it helped her figure out what kind of stories she wanted to do in her career, as the start opened with a big bang in South and in Bollywood as well.
She has been away from the movies for the last two years. Her last movie was Ponniyin Selvan 2, starring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and herself, made over Rs 300 crores.
