Ajith Kumar Demands 175 Crore Salary, Industry In Shock

The Tamil industry is buzzing over paychecks. Superstars Vijay and Rajinikanth charge over 200 crores, and now Ajith Kumar may be joining their league. After his hit action-comedy Good Bad Ugly (GBU), reports suggest he could raise his salary from Rs 150 crore to Rs 175 crore for the tentatively titled AK64, leaving fans and producers curious.

Ajith is reportedly reuniting with director Adhik Ravichandran for AK64. The superstar believes “even simple stories should be presented lavishly,” which could make the budget Rs 300–400 crore. While his team hasn’t confirmed the figures, the news has stirred excitement. Filming is expected during the racing off-season, with Ajith focusing entirely on this project.

This year, Ajith appeared in Vidaamuyarchi, an action thriller by Magizh Thirumeni, about a couple caught in a kidnapping in Baku. The film starred Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Arav, and Regina Cassandra and received mixed reviews. He then returned with Good Bad Ugly, playing a former gangster rescuing his son. The film also featured Trisha, Arjun Das, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, and Shine Tom Chacko, and became a major hit.

AK64 aims to appeal to a wider audience, unlike GBU, which mostly catered to Ajith’s fans. With the racing season break approaching, expectations are high to see how the superstar combines action, drama, and grandeur while setting new benchmarks in Tamil cinema.
