What Is Lenin’s Box Office Target?

Finally, after almost three years of waiting, Akhil Akkineni’s next film “Lenin” is hitting cinemas tomorrow, Friday, July 10th, and that should end the drought of nearly a decade for the young hero. While the film took a long time, in the end it fetched a U/A certificate from the Censor and is expected to stun the audience with the second half. So, what’s the box office target for the movie?

Directed by newcomer Murali Kishor Abburu and produced by both Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna Akkineni, Lenin has Akhil and Bhagyasree Bhorse playing lead roles. The movie is all about a Rangasthalam like setup in Rayalaseema as per the trailer, and we have to see how it impresses. In India, there are benefit shows from 5 AM, and in the USA, that will be on Thursday night as usual. The film has already amassed ₹1.43 crore from the advance bookings.

Guess what, the movie is riding with almost ₹40 crores of advances from the distributors and exhibitors. It should collect around ₹70 crores from the box office to become a superhit and at least a super saviour for all the parties involved. This is the first time in his career that Akhil is facing such a huge challenge on his shoulders in terms of budget recovery. However, with no competition right now at the box office, a little positive talk is enough for Lenin to hit it out of the park.
