Akkineni Akhil Targets Lenin For Valentine’s Day?

Akhil Akkineni, Nagarjuna’s younger son, has been in full newly-married mode ever since he tied the knot with Zainab Ravadjee in June. The couple keeps getting spotted at airports, holidaying and just enjoying that honeymoon glow. But fans are still stuck on one big question, when is Akhil finally coming back to the big screen? His last film, Agent, released almost three years ago and didn’t work out, and he’s been missing from theatres ever since.

Back in April 2025, the team dropped the teaser of his new film Lenin, which originally had Sreeleela as the heroine. Months passed, no real updates, and the buzz slowly cooled down. The film is directed by Murali Kishore Abbur and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. Later, due to date clashes, the team replaced the heroine, and Bhagyashree Borse stepped in. The shoot is finally in its last stages now.

And here’s where the new chatter begins. Industry circles are whispering that the makers are planning to release Lenin on February 14, 2026. Valentine’s Day. Apparently, the film has strong love content and even some intense romantic portions, so the team feels Valentine’s week might give it that extra push. It’s still not official, but the rumour is loud enough to reach everywhere.

There’s also a fun sentiment angle. In 2025, Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel came out in early February and turned into a massive ₹100-crore blockbuster. Now, exactly a year later, Akhil seems ready to aim for the same window, probably hoping the timing brings him the same luck. With Thaman composing the music, fans are hoping Lenin finally gives Akhil the big comeback he’s been waiting for.
