Indian film industry heroes face a strange situation compared to Hollywood stars. Playing their age is something that many heroes are not used to here. Also, the fans cannot digest seeing their hero walking with a cane or being a grandfather who cannot move fluidly. This is the reason why many senior heroes still do action films and try to look as young as they can.

Romancing heroines is also a major issue because stars who crossed 45 years of age are not finding suitable heroines. While people want heroes to look fit, young and still pull off cool action scenes and dance moves, they can't stand heroes romancing heroines who are way younger than them. The fact of the matter is that there is no heroine in this industry who is 50 years old.

Also, the audiences bracket heroines like Trisha, Nayanthara, Anushka, Shruti Hassan, Tamannaah and Kajal as seniors. People don't mind them romancing seniors like Chiru, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan when the heroines are still over twenty years younger than these heroes. People are finding fault in Ravi Teja or Mahesh Babu romancing Sreeleela as she is in her early twenties but Balakrishna's heroine in 'Bhagavanth Kesari' is Kajal who is 25 years younger in comparison to the hero. In the same manner, no one is pointing fingers at 33-year-old Shraddha Srinath playing the role of a wife to Venkatesh who is 63 years old.

Nagarjuna's upcoming film 'Naa Saami Ranga' has him romancing Ashika Ranganath who is 37 years younger. Social media is going crazy about the age gap but one needs to understand that they are playing characters in a movie that is far from reality. When questions are being asked to heroes about romancing heroines half their age, the same questions need to be asked to heroines who are accepting those roles too.
