Recently, when Akshay Kumar’s horror comedy Bhooth Bangla came out, many trashed it. While the film looks routine, the jokes worked out a lot of the time. The Ahmed Khan directorial is full of mad comedy that wouldn’t excite the South audience, but still it clicked with the North folks, it looks like. After opening with a ₹20 crore nett from the Indian box office last Friday, many felt that the film might not pick up due to the poor reviews around.

However, due to the lack of good films at the box office, Akshay Kumar’s comedy, the presence of a plethora of stars and starlets, and the way glamour is poured into songs, the film has now scored the coveted ₹100 crore mark at the box office.
