When Pawan Kalyan understood Johnny fate before release

Before turning fully active in Andhra Pradesh politics, Pawan Kalyan was a huge cinema star with tremendous following. Incidentally, one interesting bit of information about Pawan Kalyan’s earlier film was revealed by senior producer, Allu Aravind.

Allu Aravind is currently taking part in the promotional campaign of Thandel and he interacted with Telugu media in the process. In the interaction, he briefly spoke about an earlier film of Kalyan, which could not do much at the box office.

The film and discussion here is Johnny. This was one of the most anticipated films at that point in time as it was directed by Kalyan himself, and it had a blockbuster album that built up the anticipation before the release. The expectations on this film, were significantly high.

However, as it turned out, this film turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year and was rightly rejected by the larger section of the audience.

Incidentally, Allu Aravind revealed that Pawan Kalyan understood the fate of this project, right in the middle of the shoot itself. The senior producer revealed that Kalyan was doubtful about the result of Johnny, while they were shooting as he understood that the film had a completely different set up that is alienated to the Telugu audience.

However, Pawan Kalyan could not step back at this point in the production as the film shooting had started already and related arrangements were being made. Due to the trade complications and subsequent theatrical and non-theatrical sales, the film had to progress and eventually flop at the box office.

Regardless of the result of this film, it must have offered a new experience to Kalyan, who made his directorial debut with this film and was able to generate a lot of buzz for the same.
