By: Shanaz B Syed | 9 May 2026 6:14 PM ISTAt a time when most actresses carefully play safe on social media, Pawan Kalyan’s “Badri” fame heroine, and the breakout star from Kaho Na Pyaar Hain, Ameesha Patel has once again spoken without filters. And this time, her target appears to be the younger generation of actresses and their aggressive PR-driven “No.1 heroine” narratives.
Saying that it’s sad thing that many young actresses who haven’t delivered a blockbuster are actually getting themselves called as ‘Superstars’ and ‘Global Superstars’ through their PR machinery teams, Ameesha breathed fire of sorts. “Loads of female actresses who haven’t even achieved 1 solo blockbuster in their careers tlll date are calling themselves stars 😁by doing 2 avg films yearly and by being on some shooting sets u don’t become a star . All u become is an actor who is a part of a projects” (sic) she tweeted.
After being stuck in Oman for nearly 24 hours due to the escalating UAE-Iran conflict, Ameesha returned to India and immediately grabbed attention with a sarcastic social media post that is now going viral across Bollywood circles. Of course, Ameesha has some stunning hits, not just hits but striking blockbusters, including Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, almost 26 years ago, and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, to the recent Gadar 2. But who are those heroines Ameesha is referring to?
But then, audience have shot back at Ameesha, saying that this actress doesn’t even know how to act, and never gave any lifetime memorable performance in any role. They stated that having just blockbusters to the credit won’t make you a superstar, but having acting prowess might make you a superstar in its own sorts.
