Amruta revealed that after her hit film Vivah, she received strange and sometimes scary marriage proposals. “Some people came directly to my house saying, ‘Mujse Shaadi Karlo,’” she said. Some even delivered love letters written in blood. The incidents happened repeatedly, making her feel unsafe. The attention focused more on her personal life than her work, leading her to avoid parties and award shows, and just focus on her work, making major appearances in public.
During this time, Amrita found support and love in R. J. Anmol. The couple dated for seven years and married privately in Mumbai on May 15, 2016. In 2020, they welcomed their son Veer, giving her life a sense of normalcy and joy amid earlier struggles.
After her Telugu debut Athidhi, Amrita Rao didn’t appear in any Telugu movies, as the film did not perform well at the box office and she couldn’t take up further opportunities. After her marriage, she took a six-year break from acting. Now she is making a comeback with the upcoming movie Jolly LLB 3, where she plays the role of Sandhya Tyagi. The film is a legal comedy-drama featuring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. Amruta has also said that she is open to taking opportunities in Tollywood if the right roles come her way.
