‘Kingdom’ Confused Hero’s Brother

When Vijay Deverakonda was coming up with the movie “Kingdom”, it was promoted that the film is going to be the best of his career and might smash many bigger records of films like KGF as well. However, after watching the trailer, it has come out that the period film set in Sri Lanka might not appeal to all sections. And the result was more of a shocker.

Talking about Kingdom, regarding which Vijay Devarakonda hasn’t made any open comment yet, his brother Anand Devarakonda, whose latest film “Epic” is releasing two weeks later, stated that the film confused him. He felt that once the story shifts to Sri Lanka, the film gets into a confusion mode, and that hasn’t worked at the box office. Many felt at that time that the confusion that was prevailing inside the content had bored the audience big time.

On that note, many period films that are made with stunning budgets often focus more on visual appeal, visual effects and the grandness of the output, thereby forgetting about the story and screenplay. Though the film has an interesting story, the screenplay made it slow and unbearable at times. That led to the flop show of Kingdom, which is also produced by the makers of Anand Devarakonda’s Epic movie.
