During the show, Anasuya was heard making a remark while speaking to comedian Aadi, which included Raashi’s name in “Raashi Gaari Phalali,” in a double-meaning context. At that time, the comment was treated as casual humor and did not receive much attention. However, after the clip resurfaced on social media, many viewers felt that the words were inappropriate and amounted to body shaming.
What surprised many people was that Anasuya is usually known for strongly speaking against body shaming and disrespect towards women. She had earlier reacted firmly to comments made by Shivaji on women, which made netizens question why similar standards were not followed in this case.
Actress Raashi responded seriously to the issue. She said that she did not mind the word being used generally, but felt hurt when her name was specifically included. She also expressed disappointment that the judges present at the time laughed instead of stopping the conversation.
As the criticism grew, Anasuya shared a long apology note on social media, taking responsibility for her past actions. In her post, she wrote, “Dear Raasi garu, my sincere apologies to you… please accept my apologies.” She admitted that she should have questioned the writers and directors back then but lacked the power to do so at that time.
Anasuya also stated, “People change and evolve,” explaining that her journey includes moving away from shows that promote double-meaning content. Addressing the hate campaign against her, she added, “I am more stronger and empowered than before to question the narratives built around women’s bodies.”
She ended her message by expressing understanding of Raashi’s discomfort and hoping for support, making it clear that her apology was personal and sincere. The incident has once again started an important discussion about accountability, growth, and respect towards women in the entertainment industry.
