Anasuya Calls Some Media Vultures For Twisting Words

Amid the ongoing debate sparked by actor Shivaji’s comments on women’s dressing, especially that of heroines at public events, former anchor and actress Anasuya Bharadwaj has once again come forward with a strong reaction of her own. This time, describing the situation as gaslighting and calling a few media folks vultures, she shot back big time.

Anasuya made it clear that she’s not asking all the women to turn into western wear, but wearing a saree or western wear should be their (women's) choice, not something that would be dictated by men. She expressed concern over how comments like Shivaji’s can normalize unsolicited judgments. She emphasied that every women and men has the freedom to dress as they please without facing moral policing or societal shaming.

Anasuya made it clear that restrictions or moral judgment on how women choose to dress is not only disrespectful but also harmful. She pointed out that public figures and influencers should be more responsible, as their opinions could shape public opinion. According to Anasuya, gaslighting women’s choices as right or wrong based on clothing amounts to distracting from more important conversations about respect, equality, and personal freedom.

In a series of images, she share on Instagram, where there are lots of messages, Anasuya finally stated that if someone doesn’t like her and still follows through her messages on social media, they are none but her fans.
