Director Anil Ravipudi, who recently delivered a massive blockbuster with Sankranthiki Vasthunam, an action-comedy entertainer, has revealed a valuable piece of advice from superstar Mahesh Babu that completely changed his career trajectory.

Anil shared that Mahesh Babu thoroughly enjoyed watching the film and had earlier advised me to focus on the action comedy genre while I was working on Bhagavanth Kesari. "Mahesh told me that I have a natural strength in comedy and should explore it more. He even mentioned how the Tamil film Jailer nailed the genre and encouraged me to give it a shot, assuring me that I could shake the industry," Anil recalled. That 40-minute conversation planted the idea in my mind and set me on a new path.

Having worked with Mahesh Babu in Sarileru Neekevvaru, Anil said that the superstar's belief in his potential gave him the confidence to take the leap. "He told me that if I try, I can create wonders in this space. That thought stayed with me and truly transformed my approach. As a result, Sankranthiki Vasthunam turned out to be a massive success, crossing the ₹200 crore mark."
