What's Happening For Sankranthi 2026? Will Anil Win?

Director Anil Ravipudi has successfully managed to create a comical trademark for himself. Historically and strategically speaking, Anil has been able to shake the box office during the Sankranti festival season.

For instance, we have the case of 2025 Sankranti, where Anil came with Sankrantiki Vastunnam and created havoc. In competition, he had action films Game Changer and Daku Maharaj. So his comedy genre brought audience to theatres in big numbers.

But when it comes to the 2026 Sankranti, where Anil is coming with another comedy film with megastar Chiranjeevi, things are not going to be straight forward this time.

This time we have multiple comedy films, including Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga oka Raju, and Prabhas’s horror comedy Raja Saab.

This would naturally split the audience with multiple comedy oriented films in the offing. It is not going to be like Anil’s comedy is the only comedy relief film amidst action oriented Sankranthi which is generally the case.

The family audience will have multiple comedy films to have a crack at this Sankranthi season. What is for certain is that Anil and Chiranjeevi will not have a straightforward chase this time.

But the primary point here is that the very combination of Anil and Chiranjeevi is going to be enough to pull audience in big numbers. There will be a consistent and solid market for this film and all Anil will have to do is bring out n decent stuff to have his share of the pie.
