By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Feb 2025 3:36 AMPiracy continues to trouble the Telugu film industry with Thandel becoming the latest victim. Producer Bunny Vas once again took to social media to highlight that a pirated version of Thandel was played on an APSRTC bus. Sharing the bus details (Vehicle No: AP 39 WB 5566), he expressed disappointment over how piracy affects filmmakers and disrespects the efforts of the entire film crew.
Bunny Vas tweeted, "Once again the pirated version of our #Thandel played on the @apsrtc bus (Vehicle No: AP 39 WB. 5566). Piracy harms the film industry and disrespects creators' hard work. APSRTC Chairman #KonakallaNarayanaRao Garu kindly ensure a strict circular is issued, prohibiting the screening of pirated movie footage in all buses across the state."
This is not the first time Thandel has faced piracy issues. Soon after its release, a high-definition print was leaked online, and a local cable channel also aired the movie. The film's team had vowed to take strict action against those involved in piracy.
Previously, an APSRTC bus (Service No: 3066) was also found playing a pirated version of Thandel. Bunny Vas condemned the act, stating, "This is not only illegal and outrageous but also a blatant insult to the countless individuals who worked tirelessly to bring this film to life." Following this, APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Now, with another incident reported, the film industry is demanding stricter actions to curb piracy. APSRTC is expected to take stronger measures to prevent pirated content from being screened on its buses.
