Anupama Parameswaran Opens Up About Her Bold Turn in Tillu Square

When you hear the name Anupama Parameswaran, you instantly imagine the soft-spoken, saree-clad heroine who wins hearts with her innocent smile. For years, she stayed in that comfort zone. But last year�s Tillu Square flipped that image upside down. Short skirts, bold lip-locks, and a completely different vibe � the audience was stunned. Many wondered, �Is this really Anupama?� Now, she has broken her silence.

Her latest film Parada is all set to release on the 22nd of this month, and promotions are in full swing. During an interview, Anupama candidly revealed that she wasn�t comfortable while shooting Tillu Square. �I thought about this film for years before saying yes. It�s not that my fans disliked it � they actually appreciated the role. But personally, I found it hard to do. Wearing those costumes, doing those scenes� it wasn�t easy for me, either during shooting or during promotions,� she said.

Anupama explained that this role was not a decision made overnight. �It took me a long time to decide. On set, I wasn�t 100% confident. It felt like a challenge, just like stepping into a completely new world. I kept wondering what people would think about me playing such a character,� she added.

Yet, she believes the role was worth it. �The character was strong. People even said I matched the hero�s energy. I knew criticism would come � and it did � but I had prepared myself for it. Sometimes, as an actor, you take on roles that shake your own comfort zone. Tillu Square was exactly that for me,� Anupama said with a smile.
