Anupama Parameswaran Says Fate Took Her Beyond Imagination
Life doesn’t always follow the plan. It takes turns you don’t see coming and somehow lands you in places you never imagined.

That’s pretty much how Anupama Parameswaran looks at her journey. She laughs about how she just wanted to act in one good film when she started, and now she’s here, with years of work behind her and a bunch of new releases lined up. It’s not a story built on big noise, but on quiet steps that added up without her even realizing.
This year alone, she’s been on a roll, Dragon, Janaki vs. State of Kerala, Parada, and Kishkindhapuri. Four different stories, four different moods. And now Bison is waiting to hit the screens this Friday. What makes it special for her is the man behind it, Mari Selvaraj. She once missed working with him in Pariyerum Perumal, something that stayed stuck in her mind for years. “I wondered if I’d ever get that chance again,” she said. Turns out, she did.
Talking about it, Anupama sounds like someone who still gets butterflies before every project. “When I did Premam, I didn’t know anything about cinema,” she admitted. “Everything felt new and magical. And now, ten years later, during the Bison photo shoot, I felt the same thing again.” There’s something disarming about how she says it, no big statements, just an honest memory of that spark that keeps her going.
As Bison heads toward release, she seems calm about where she’s at. No overthinking, no rush. Just taking what comes, the way it comes. “Fate took me beyond imagination,” she said, and you can tell she means it. Maybe that’s the real magic here, not just the films, but the way she lets life unfold on its own, without forcing the script.
