The Telugu industry sustained a serious situation a few days ago when it was communicated that theatre suite operations from June 1. In this context, something interesting has happened as the Andhra Pradesh film chamber has started to convene a meeting.

The Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC) is holding a crucial executive committee meeting today, May 30, 2025, in Visakhapatnam. This gathering aims to address key issues impacting the Telugu film industry, with a primary focus on the ongoing dispute between film distributors and theater exhibitors over revenue-sharing practices.

In recent weeks, tensions have escalated over disagreements regarding the current revenue model, prompting discussions about shutting down theaters across Andhra Pradesh starting June 1. However, following initial talks and a willingness to collaborate, the proposed theater shutdown has been put on hold as stakeholders push for a mutually beneficial resolution.

Damodar Prasad, General Secretary of the Telugu Film Chamber, stressed the importance of today’s meeting in finding long-term solutions. He reiterated the Chamber’s intent to resolve matters internally and warned against external interference that could complicate the situation further.

The outcome of this meeting is expected to shape the future operational framework of the Telugu film industry, particularly in how profits are shared and how sustainable relationships between producers, distributors, and exhibitors are maintained. As the industry watches closely, all eyes are now on Visakhapatnam for decisive actions that could prevent further disruption.
