For Telugu people, watching movies in theaters is more than entertainment—it's an emotion. The electrifying atmosphere at theaters, especially during the release of films featuring beloved stars, is a testament to this enthusiasm. According to a recent survey, Andhra Pradesh leads the country in the number of movie theaters.
Altogether, there are 6877 theatres in the nation, and Andhra Pradesh alone has 1097 theatres. This number highlights the state's deep-rooted cinematic culture. Tamil Nadu has 942 theaters, Karnataka 719, and Telangana 485, while Maharashtra leads in the North with 703 theaters.
Other states like Gujarat (420), Bengal (373), and Uttar Pradesh (321) follow suit. But their numbers pale in comparison to those of the southern states. In the North, there are more multiplexes compared to single screens.
