Mani Ratnam is a tough taskmaster and he is never willing to compromise on the creative aspects of film making.
First Schedule of Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari starrer 'Kaatru Veliyidal' took place in Ooty. A House which looked creepy has been converted into a Hospital for meeting the requirement of Mani. Scenes of Karthi who was injured undergoing treatment were shot here.
After the conversion, The place looked similar to Kashmir. Even the Junior Artistes were found in Kashmiri attire.
In 'Kaatru Veliyidal', Karthi is doing the role of a pilot and he removed his moustache for the movie. Aditi Rao, on the other hand, will be seen as a Doctor. Probably, The scenes where Karthi and Aditi Rao meet for the first time were shot in Ooty.
