A New Combination Like 80's Hit Pairs?!

Tamil Star Hero Ajith could stand against Superstar Rajni film and deliver a hit for Pongal, Viswasam. The movie did not get much critical acclaim but box office audience decided to laud the efforts of Ajith, Nayantara and director Siva.
Siva after Siruthai got an offer to direct Thala and he delivered Veeram. The movie became a hit for Pongal and Ajith worked with Gautham Menon for Yennai Arindhal.
That movie got critical acclaim to a level but at box office did not become a big hit. Later the same year, Ajith and Siva combination delivered, Vedalam, big hit of Ajith for Diwali.
Immediately, Ajith gave Siva two more films and for Vivegam he took time off to reduce his weight and look like International Spy.
The movie failed and he immediately gave Siva and same producer another film. That is Viswasam and it could become a hit against a fan favourite film of Rajni, Petta.
Boney Kapoor signed contract with Ajith and he gave a break to Siva and Ajith combination with Pink remake. H. Vinoth re-wrote the entire story and Vidya Balan is acting in a special role in the film.
The movie is planned for 1st May release, this year. The second film for Boney could be Ajith-Siva combination film, it seems.
We saw Rajni-Muthuraman, Rajni-KS Ravi Kumar, Chiranjeevi-Kodandarami Reddy combination doing movies like this before. Kamal Hassan-Balachander used to do even more films for every year too! They got names as hit pairs at box office in 80's. Seems like that trend is back in Tamil Cinema now!
