The combination of Tamanna-Prabhu Deva-Sonu Sood itself aroused huge curiosity. A Director of AL Vijay's calibre, title 'Abhinetri' and horror-comedy genre has fetched good craze for the project. The fact that Kona Venkat (Telugu), Prabhudeva (Tamil) and Sonu Sood (Hindi) acted as Producers of the tri-lingual only made everyone believe this movie is going to be something special. Did this Dussehra release met the hype?

Performances:
Characterization of Male Lead is a huge asset for 'Abhinetri'. Prabhudeva excelled as a helpless husband, generates humor and keeps the audience engaged for most of the time. Although dances weren't up to his standards, He didn't disappoint either. The kind of rapport he shares with Tamanna and Sapthagiri shows on the screen.
Tamanna can proudly claim that this is her career-best performance. All the dimensions in her have been explored to the fullest. She excelled as an innocent village belle and actress who aspires to make it big in glamour field. Watching the Milky Beauty is no less than an eye-feast for Youth. When it comes to dance moves, She matched the style, grace and energy of Prabhudeva.
Sonu Sood does what is expected from him without fail. Sapthagiri tickles the funny bone. Pruthvi is alright. Murali Sharma is impressive. Rest of the cast does justice to their roles.
Pros:
Performances
Comedy
Technical Values
Cons:
Lack of Thrilling Moments
Predictable
Technicalities:
Music composed by three Musicians is fairly good. While Songs were decent enough, Background Score is exceptional. Manush Nandan's Camera Work deserves a special mention. Dialogues penned by Kona Venkat have hit the right chord. Production values were too good. Director AL Vijay picked up an ordinary story and tried to narrate it in an entertaining manner. 'Abhinetri' will stand in between the good and bad films made by this Filmmaker so far.
Technicalities:
'Abhinetri' is unlike most of the horror-comedy flicks released in the recent past. Director AL VIjay should be appreciated for going against the trend of 'Heroine possessed by evil spirit bashing up Hero & Comedians'. He didn't try to include unnecessary horror elements and twists n turns but focussed on presenting it in a pleasant manner.
Commendable Performances, Simple Screenplay, Technical Finesse & Production Values are the positives of 'Abhinetri'. Prabhudeva entertains every time he appears on the screen with peculiar comic timing and body language. Tamanna, on the other hand, arrests the attention of viewers with her glamour and performance. Sonu Sood, Sapthagiri, Pruthvi and Murali Sharma play their parts to perfection.
You can't find any freshness in the story of 'Abhinetri'. Comparisons could be drawn with Bollywood flick 'Om Shanti Om' and a lot of old Telugu-Tamil Projects. Even the Screenplay is mostly predictable and there are hardly any thrilling moments. The Director didn't make any attempts to scare the audience even though the central plot is based on ghost. He focussed majorly on the comedy quotient.
Biggest strengths of 'Abhinetri' is its wide-release. The trilingual tag is a blessing in disguise for the movie. Though humour in the movie isn't hilarious, Still audience could have a good time if gone with minimal expectations.
Bottom Line: Humour dominates Horror!
