Two Super Hits were delivered in the combination of Manchu Vishnu and G Nageswar Reddy. Now, They are aiming for a hat-trick with 'Achari America Yatra'. Let's see if they continued the good sentiment...
Synopsis:
Krishnamachari (Manchu Vishnu) and his Guru Appalachari (Brahmanandam) visits a house to perform few rituals. It's then love blossoms between Krishnamachari Family Head's Grand-daughter Renuka (Pragya Jaiswal). While performing the rituals, Head of the Family breathes his last. Pundits flee to America fearing threat to lives from Renuka's Family. What's the mystery behind the death and how Krishnamachari reunited with his soulmate forms rest of the tale!
Performances:
Manchu Vishnu does what worked for him in his film career so far. His role have many similarities with that of 'Denikaina Ready'. Brahmanandam tries his best to generate fun but the character wasn't etched out well. Pragya Jaiswal impresses with glam quotient. Posani, Pruthvi, Prabhas Seenu and Praveen failed to deliver what is expected from them. None of the baddies leave a positive impact.
Pros:
Pragya Jaiswal's Glamour
Cons:
Direction
Second Half
Lack of enough Fun Quotient
Technicalities:
Neither Thaman's Songs nor Background Score are appreciable. Melody Song in the Second Half is an exception. Production Values are pretty good. G Nageswar Reddy failed terribly as Director with this comedy caper. Story & Screenplay is very ordinary. Dialogues are pathetic.
Analysis:
Manchu Vishnu have a good track record with comedy capers. Particularly, Combination of Vishnu and Brahmanandam yielded best results in the past. G Nageswar Reddy who had already delivered two hits with Vishnu made 'Achari America Yatra' in the same combo. Promos gave a feeling that this movie could be minimum guarantee. What was supposed to be a laugh riot turned out to be a boring experience for the movie buffs. Hardly there are any scenes to tickle the funny bone in this 2 hours 15 minutes-long flick.
'Achari America Yatra' proved good title and attractive promos can't guarantee solid content. America Backdrop was chosen to generate comedy but the purpose failed. Despite having good scope to produce rib-tickling comedy episodes after the story shifts to US, Director didn't make us of it effectively. Neither the Comedy Tracks nor the Romantic Track arrests the attention of viewers.
Illogical and Silly Sequence continue to test the patience till the very end. Viewers just wait for the movie to end as soon as possible in the Second Half. G Nageswar Rao seems to have gone completely out of form this time. It's rare to see someone with good command on comedy fail so badly in making movie lovers laugh heartily. 'Achari America Yatra' is going to be a forgettable film for the Hit Combo!
Bottom Line: Achari 'Irritating' Yatra!
