Actor-Director Found Dead At His Residence!

When a member of the industry passes away, the chain continues and the industry suffers big losses at regular intervals. Continuing the chain a veteran actor-filmmaker passed away. Reports say that he was found dead at his residence the other day.
The veteran actor-director Pratap Pothen who has the credit of acting in more than 100 films across the languages breathed his last on Friday. His helper is believed to have noticed that there is no movement from the actor and informed others.
Various media outlets including Sun TV carried out news saying that Pratap Pothen is no more. The actor-filmmaker was 70 when he passed away. It is said that Pratap Pothen stays alone as he is a divorcee. He married twice and both marriages ended up as divorces. Pratap tied the knot with actress Raadhika in 1985 and parted ways the next year.
A few years later, Pratap Pothen married Amala Sathyanath. After staying together for over two decades, they parted ways. The couple was blessed with a daughter. After his divorce, the actor started living individually reportedly in Chennai and he was found dead at the same residence in Chennai.
Though there is no official confirmation, reports say that Pratap Pothen might have passed away due to a heart attack. If there would have been anyone in his house, they would have called for any medical help. Sadly, that was not the case in Pratap's case.
Pratap comes from a big family that is financially sound. After starting his career as a copywriter, he ventured into films. Pratap rose to fame by acting in Malayalam and Tamil films. He acted in Telugu and Hindi films too. Pratap helmed three of the iconic films in Malayalam Thakara (1979), Lorry (1980), and Chamaram (1980).
He was supposed to appear in an upcoming Malayalam film Barroz: Nidhi Kaakkum Bhootham which is being helmed by Superstar Mohanlal. Besides acting, Mohanlal is also acting in the upcoming flick. The upcoming film is based on the popular novel Barroz: Guardian of D' Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose.
