Talented actor Prakash Raj has created quite a sensation by announcing his decision of contesting the MAA association elections. He even announced the panel members who will run for the elections.

His announcement has led to a debate of local and non-local actors. His opponents are questioning how an outsider can contest the elections. However, Prakash Raj and his supporters are defending him over the debate.

When Prakash Raj is gathering support from all the corners, especially from the biggies of the industry like the Mega compound, veteran actor Murali Mohan has brought a new demand that the President should be elected unanimously without going to the polls.

Adding further, former MAA President Murali Mohan said he is holding talks with senior leaders to see that without going to the polls, the MAA President will be elected.

Murali Mohan's demand has made the MAA election episode even more interesting. The new development has hindered the chances of Prakash Raj winning the Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections.

As a fresh development, media reports claimed that the MAA elections might not take place in the coming future, given the internal issues and the growing list of contenders for the post.

On the other hand, the rules and regulations of MAA states that once elected, the winning panel can hold the office for a period of six years if the serving President decides to complete the full tenure.

Though there is a provision that elections can be held every two years. The panel can bypass the rule if wanted. It is said that serving President Naresh, a senior actor is in the mood to complete the full tenure.

Seeing all these developments, Prakash Raj is said to have understood that he doesn't stand any chance in these circumstances and he is in plans to back out of the MAA elections. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Other personalities like Manchu Vishnu, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, senior actress Hema, and Sai Kumar have announced that they will also contest for the MAA President post. Veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao has slammed Prakash Raj, Nagababu, and others for holding a series of press briefings even before the notification for the elections was not even announced.
