After Shahid's Jersey, will RRR postpone too?
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Dec 2021 5:35 PM ISTSpiderman No Way Home saw huge collections at Indian Boxoffice almost equal to Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh did cameos in this cop universe film directed by Rohit Shetty. This made many Hindi producers go ahead with their release plans as they have already decided.
But Maharastra government decided to announce Night Curfews fearing spread of Omicron virus in Mumbai and other cities of the state. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka followed the suite.
Ranveer Singh's 83 released on 24th December but the movie did not have a box office turnout as expected. Movie collected close to Rs.47 crore Nett only during the opening weekend. It is regarded as poor by the trade pundits.
Hence, Shahid Kapoor's Jersey producers decided to postpone their movie from the slotted 31st December date to the next available date. The announcement will be made by the producers soon about the new date.
Looks like RRR starring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR and directed by SS Rajamouli will also be forced to follow the suit as releasing the movie in Telugu states will kill the business in Hindi circuits and the ticket pricing issue in Andhra Pradesh still did not come to a stern conclusion. Let's wait for the official word from the producers.
