Akshay Kumar Mines Gold With Confusion Comedy!

Akshay Kumar after 2005-07, seems to have again hit a golden patch like no other hero. After huge disasters threatened to end his career, he did a movie with Priyadarshan, Hera Pheri.
The movie became a comedy classic and opened market for confusion comedy in Hindi, again. It was remake of Malayalam movie. Akshay Kumar on back of remake comedies, started consolidating as a star in 2000's and Dhadkan kind of films also helped him to challenge the three Khans.
But his market did not grow as exponentially as Khans and he came close to giving everyone tough competition only towards 2005-07 years. From Tees Maar Khan, Joker kind of films in 2008-10 period, he again failed to deliver consistently at box office.
If he gave a Rowdy Rathore kind of a hit, then there were many flops like Singh is Bling too. He started to do action films like Baby and patriotic films as well. This formula worked for him but he couldn't beat his best Rowdy Rathore collections with any of those films that became hits from 2013.
But he increased the number of films he releases per year and this made people notice his consistency. Now, in 2019, he again hit a golden phase.
All 4 films, released this year became hits and they passed Rowdy Rathore too. Interestingly, even loud comedy Housefull 4 crossed 200 crores collections and Good Newwz is closing in on 250 crores gross worldwide.
Film collected 165.65 crores gross in India in first week and 42.15 crores gross from Overseas, in its first week. This film could be Akshay's biggest grosser in Overseas ever, as second weekend is also going strong for it.
