Airlift was based on massive evacuation of Indians from invaded Kuwait in 1990. The evacuation continued for almost 60 odd days. Now Akshay Kumar feels that the story 'Airlift' should be included textbooks.
"If you browse through World Guinness Book of Records, the biggest air evacuation was done by our beloved country and this is why I selected to do this subject. I always made a request that this big chapter should be there in our textbooks." said Akshay
India evacuated about 1,70,000 Indians to the homeland in 1990 and Air India entered the Guinness Book of records for being a largest evacuation done by any civilian airline. Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Ranjit Katyal who heads that mission.
