Akshay Kumar is having a fun time at the box office with his films managing to gross more than 100 crores and his last two, Kesari and Mission Mangal went past 150 crores mark too.
He used to make comedies more often in the last decade after he re-establiahed his market as a comedy hero after his action star image and films did not take off as expected after Mohra.
He decided to go for more action oriented films from Baby and he earned the image as patriotic person with all his latest films taking up stories from history or telling stories contemporary achievements of Indians or giving social messages in relation to Government initiations like Swacch Bharat.
Now, he is back to comedy with latest film from his Houseful franchise. He, Ritesh Deshmukh return to the franchise while Farhad Samji is the writer and director.
Sajid Khan, popular writer, host and director was supposed to finish the film, but #MeToo allegations on him, forced him to quit the job. So, Farhad completed the film.
In the film, every character is reincarnated from 1419 in 2019 and they will try to fulfil their love story. Akshay Kumar will be playing a soldier with no hair in 1419 but with big moustache and a person with less facial hair and full hair in 2019.
Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda, Kriti Sanon and Bobby Deol are playing other leading roles in the comicaper. It is scheduled for release during Diwali.
