All Indians Will Get AIDS With Condom Ad Ban: Rakhi
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Dec 2017 11:50 AMEver since the new rule banning the condom ads on TV channels from 6 am to 10 pm was out, it has become a big discussion on the social media. There are mixed reactions to the new rule on the social media. Rakhi Sawant who has recently appeared in a steamy condom ad has something to say about this ban. She is saying that it is a stupid ban and PM Narendra Modi should intervene to settle the issue.
She said "If condom ads stop, everybody in India will get AIDS. Until children don't see the ads how can they know about precautions? I would urge the government to set some limitations on vulgarity on such ads but banning is not a good idea. We should not shy away from the topic of sex. At a time when government themselves are funding for condom distribution at the hospitals and trying to increase HIV awareness, how could they ban the ads during prime time? Ads themselves are more educative."
While there are reports that 1.6 crore abortions happen in India and 51% of the pregnancies in India are unintended, the issue appears to be far more serious. Considering all these things some netizens are cracking jokes on the ban. A netizen commented that "In India Condom ads..Deodorant ads.. Scooty ads.. Hair oil ads.. Music CDs ads.. Body lotion ads.. all fall into the same category! then why are we targeting only condom ads."
On the other hand, another netizen felt that "We are a country of 1.2 + billion people & growing. If anything, those #CondomAds should be playing on an hourly basis. Banning them at prime time is a stupid & regressive idea.
