The unanimous talk about 'Rudramadevi' is that Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy dominated rest of the actors in the movie with his brilliant performance. Even Gunasekhar has designed the role so well...be it the look or scenes or dialogues.
However, Historians have been criticizing Gunasekhar for ignoring the facts in the name of taking cinematic liberties and adding commercial ingredients. As per history, Rudramadevi ruled Kakatiya Dynasty for 30 years unopposed without much support from eith her husband Chalukya Veerabadrudu or Gona Ganna Reddy. But, Gunasekhar showed Gona Ganna Reddy as a Robin Hood who always helped Rudramadevi overcome the hurdles.
Critics feel whatever Gunasekhar has shown when it comes to Gona Ganna Reddy is a complete trash. At the same time, Gona Ganna Reddy emerged as the major crowd puller post the release. Audience believe the film could have been a blockbuster had him Gona Ganna Reddy was made the lead instead of Anushka as Rudramadevi and casting Bunny in the role.
