Reviewers dont respect Our Cinema: Allu Arjun

Team DJ toured USA last weekend as part of the promotional campaign. Allu Arjun made few hard-hitting remarks in an interview offered by him while he was travelling from Chicago to Bay Area in a chartered flight.

Piracy: 'The damage isn't being done because somebody copied it but because people are watching it. Why would anyone release pirated print if there is nobody to see it? We work very hard to give the best quality. But, Watching it by downloading from torrents or on Facebook looks cheap'.

Reviews: 'Only an intellectual can write a review and that too it's an opinion of a single person. If one crore people watched my film, Each of them will have their own view. The reactions depend on the age group & background they come from. So, Review is just a single persons point of view but that can't be everybody's point of view. It won't guarantee that People in America will only like if a Reviewer offers a good rating. Who are they to give Star Rating? How could you rate an emotion? You love your Mother…can you describe that emotion with a star rating?'.

When quizzed why didn't he find fault with Reviews in the past but only after 'DJ' release, Bunny explained: 'Earlier, Reviews weren't a big deal. But now, Ratings have been putting a stamp on the minds of People. So, That has become an big issue. In my opinion, Review Writers lacked respect on Commercial Cinema. Making of a single genre movie is very easy compared to commercial film. For a multi-genre/commercial film, There will be as many as 5 genres (Comedy, Thriller, Sentimental, Action, Romance). Even a film like 'Titanic' have only two genres (Love, Drama). Only Telugu Cinema or South Indian Cinema makes multi-genre film & it's our Originality. This situation has come because we are unable to own our uniqueness. No where in the World films have an Interval. It's a very unique point & that's our culture! It's not right to say single genre films alone are great. Today, People all over the World accepted Baahubali as a great movie why because it's a multi-genre film. Foreigners keep telling Me that they love Indian Cinema. When I ask them why, They say it's very different from their Cinema. So, First of all we should absorb our uniqueness. I request all Reviewers to know the power of the commercial cinema...it's the most difficult genre with a widest reach. First respect that!'.
