Actress Amala Paul often hits the news headlines for various reasons including professional as well as personal life. The recent one is her tax evasion rumour. Amala has recently purchased a Mercedes Benz car worth Rs. 1.2 crore. She has registered the luxury car in Puducherry. If she would have registered the same car in any other place she had to pay more tax. As Pondicherry is a union territory she got away with less tax.

Amala reportedly has shown a single bedroom flat as her address for the vehicle registration. As the building owner failed to show the rental contract of the flat, the tax evasion issue came up. When reporters asked Amala about the issue she trashed it as just a rumour. She said that she has a property in Pondicherry and she has never evaded the tax.

She questioned "How come it becomes a tax evasion? You can call me smart, not fraud". Amala proved that she is not just glamorous but she is smart with her clever answer.
