ANR Award goes to Amitabh for 2014

Prestigious Akkineni Nageswara Rao National Award is conferred to iconic actor Amitabh Bachhan for the year 2014. Every year, ANR Foundation picks up celebs who have contributed a lot to the film industry and awards them. As part of the award, the recipient will get a 5 lakhs cash prize and a certificate of honour.

Since 2005, ANR National Award was being given and the recipients included Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Lata Mangeshkar, Vyjayanthimala, Balachander, Hema Malini and Shyam Benegal. However, Amitabh is going to be the first person to receive this award post the untimely demise of legendary ANR early this year.
