Special Chit-Chat: OTT Release Is Giving A New Experience For Me - Anushka
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Sep 2020 1:30 PM GMTIt has been a long time since the release of 'Bhaagamathie'. How did 'Nishabdham' happen?
I took a break from acting willingly after the release of Bhagamathie. This is when Kona Venkat garu along with Hemant Madhukar garu approached me with the story of 'Nishabdham' and I found it very interesting. I felt my that role is very unique and agreed to be a part of this project.
Tell us about the challenges you faced while learning the international sign language for this film.
When Hemant told that I am going to play a deaf and mute lady in the film while narration, it attracted me the most and it was one of the reasons I okayed this film. I learnt Indian language first but I came to know they have a different sign language in America after I reached there. A 14-year-old girl in the USA taught me their sign language.
How do you feel about your first OTT release?
OTT and theatres are two completely distinct. Direct to digital release method as a positive prospect for cinema. It is giving me a new experience as my movie is releasing for the first time in an OTT platform directly. I hope the audience encourage and enjoy our film.
How is it working with Madhavan again for 'Nishabdham' after a very long time?
I acted alongside Madhavan in the initial days of my career. It felt great to collaborate with him after a long gap. Though we play challenging roles in the film, it doesn't entirely run on our characters. There are a few other pivotal roles in this film and the story has a lot of twists. I am confident that the audience will enjoy this thrilling ride.
Background score is crucial for a suspense thriller. How did the background score of 'Nishabdham' turn out?
This is may be the only drawback of an OTT release. The sound effects and the experience of watching a thriller in theatres will be missed which cannot be compensated with home theatres and quality headphones which nullify the effect. Music and BGM are the main assets of 'Nishabdham' and Gopi Sundar's work is top-notch.
Tell us something about your director and producers. How is it working with them?
Hemant Madhukar has a very clear vision and knows how to extract the best out of his actors. He did an excellent job for 'Nishabdham'. The production houses Kona Film Corporation and People Media Factory are just amazing. Backing an experimental story set in USA and producing it on a grand scale involves a lot of risk but they went ahead and believed in the script. Our film will be coming on Amazon Prime Video on October 2nd and I hope the audience will enjoy watching it.
